In an effort to force myself to get back out thar, I posted on reddit that I'd give out free surf lessons. I've found when I make a deal to do something I will commit to it. I definitely, as my low post-count confirms, won't go on my own.
In true SoCal style, everyone flaked except for someone who's not from here.
It was a beautiful but very cold morning and the waves were pretty small and lazy.
Long story short, I caught one wave on which I dropped in on a purple log and vaulted over the closing-out lip.
It felt great being back out there and my protege was amped at the untainted-by-a-transaction brodom.
